Interview with Kushal Dasgupta

Digital Guruji : Please introduce yourself to our audience.

Kushal Dasgupta : I am Kushal Dasgupta, a young multifaceted talented guy from Andhra Pradesh, India. I am a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER, Freelancer Photographer, Videographer, Short Film and Documentary Maker, Music Arranger and Composer, World Record Holder and a Multimedia Expert. I am very passionate in making short films, video documentaries, composing music and Photography where I bagged some great awards too.

I made a new world record by making a short feature film named ‘A Five Rupees Smile’. It is about poor street children and social awareness. I made the film only in 11 days and entered into new records as Youngest and Fastest Filmmaker of India.

It is rare to find both technical knowledge as well as creativity within one person. But I am the one among those few people who has the skills in both the fields. I am expert in managing 10 gadgets that too in 3 minutes 29 seconds only and successfully entered into 10 National and World Records for my extreme talent in technological field! I am just 18 now, pursuing some multimedia courses.

I won many trophies and awards in School level and State level Olympiads. Beside my technological talent, I am trying to upgrade the rural areas of India technologically with the awareness of newly updated devices and skills.

Digital Guruji : What kind of problem you have faced in your life?

Kushal Dasgupta : There is one kind of problem which I faced in my life and I would like to share it. Since I live in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India, I have studied in a school where it’s environment is peaceful and nice. We study together, play together and do various activities together.

This school had a separate department called Creative department that deals with the  multimedia aspects of the entire school and hostel like clicking photos for various events held in the hostel and showcase them as short documentaries and videos. Since I was very passionate in the field of multimedia like photography, videography, short documentary making etc from my childhood, I always wanted to join that department so that I too can create many creative things.

When I asked the Head of the Department whether I can join the department or not, he told me to first concentrate on my studies  and then he would think about it. I knew that if he allowed me to join the department, I would automatically study hard and also can create many creative things. But it went in vain. I felt sad. I felt excluded. Ironically other students who got the chance to be in  the department, learnt how to operate a camera for the first time and then they started to make the videos.

And here is a boy who is very much interested in multimedia, it’s his passion, he knows many things about it, is not given a chance. May be they failed to understand me, my talents and my passions. But I don’t regret now. All are God’s plans. Now my life has changed completely. I am much happier now.

Digital Guruji : How did you get rid of it?

Kushal Dasgupta : To get rid of this problem I have done smart education. Also I have done some online courses in multimedia like in photography, videography, filmmaking and things like that and am planning to pursue my career in that field only. I have listened to my heart’s voice and thought of doing something extraordinary, something unique which no one probably has done before.

That’s why when I now reflect back and think that because I was rejected then that now I am able to be the Youngest and Fastest Filmmaker of India and I have my name registered in more than 10 national and world records for me being the Youngest Indian to operate multi electronic devices together in 3 min 29 sec only. It’s all God’s will and His master plans. I am very happy now.

Digital Guruji : What are your Future Plans?

Kushal Dasgupta : My dream is to become a Media Entrepreneur so that I would identify the inner story of all general people, frame them and present to our society in a creative way. Also I would like to collaborate with my brother and father to start a new firm through which limitless creativity can be produced. There will be unlimited creations in the form of graphic designing, film making, music composing, directing, hosting and many more stuff, which can benefit people the way they need.

With the help of our creative minds, I would upgrade the mindsets of present time and bring about smiles on the faces of people as getting permanent happiness is everyone’s dream and ultimate goal.

Digital Guruji : How do you manage your time?

Kushal Dasgupta : Since I am a multifaceted talented guy, I do many things together. So in time management I am quite expert. I feel that we have less time in our hands and we have to do all that we can do in that less time. So in today’s days I believe that instead of working hard, we must do smart work. Since I am technologically advanced, I like multitasking.

For example, while I am sending a mail in my laptop, I do other works in my ipad and other devices together. In the same way while I do my daily chores I think about my next project and work on it. My mind is always creative and thinks about some or the other projects and new ideas.

I believe that time management depends upon your discipline and your habit. If you have the habit of arranging things in a smart way and the habit of leading a discipline life, you can manage your time smartly and in a productive way.

I want to tell all the youngsters that, be productive because our nation wants a lot of work from us. I am trying my best from my field so that I can do something for the society. I feel managing time from the student life till we get settled is very important because this period is a crucial time for all of us.

Everyone has 24 hours in their hands and we have to complete all our tasks in that time only. So we need to decide how we can utilize our time within those 24 hours productively and efficiently. Also I have been following my mother regarding time as she is very good in time management.

“I want to pursue smart education so that I can practice other fields at a same time.

Digital Guruji : Would you like to give any success mantra to our readers?

Kushal Dasgupta : We should always be aware of that we have only one life time with us and in that one life, we must do whatever we love to do and the things that make us happy and satisfied. Success is just a step ahead. Feel God’s grace and parents blessings always upon you. There will be no power to stop you from becoming a winner. Everyone has a way to fulfill their dreams and this is my way of reaching my dream by handling all kinds of works together efficiently.

You can adopt any method in fulfilling your dreams but remember that you must do something unique and special in life. Making a special place in everyone’s heart is a common goal for all of us. I am also trying to achieve that goal. And I believe, doing the right things in right time is my mantra of getting success.

Digital Guruji : What makes you feel happy?

Kushal Dasgupta : Being with mother nature, under the sky with all the greenery around, birds chirping, swaying trees, exploring the unexplored places, going out for adventurous  trekking and doing what I love to do are some of the things that makes me feel happy. Nature is our best teacher and I have learnt many things from her.

Sometimes when I feel bored or sad or depressed about an issue, I just go out and feel the nature around me. The cool breeze experienced that time makes me feel peaceful and calm. Many of my problems got solved by just being one with the nature and experiencing its lovely essence.

Digital Guruji : What’s your weakness?

Kushal Dasgupta : I am a very introvert guy. Not that I feel shy to talk to people, but I prefer to remain quiet and silent. I avoid gossiping and unnecessary talks with anyone. If someone asks about a particular topic, then probably I reply to them how much it is necessary.

Also I get too much involved in one particular thing. Suppose I am working on a project, I get deeply involved in it. No matter what’s happening around me or in the world, I just finish my work with perfection and then realize what is happening around me. I don’t mind not having my food, lunch or dinner. I don’t mind sleepless nights, but my work should get finished with perfection and I put my mind and soul to do that.

“If you want to achieve something, you need to be courageous,”

Digital Guruji : Any incidence in your life which you can’t forget in your life?

Kushal Dasgupta : There is a famous organization in Maharashtra for Art and Culture known as Rangotsav Celebration. They conduct Painting Competitions for thousands of schools all over India. So every year we used to participate from our school and they used to give certificates of appreciation too. So that year too they gave a common art work for colouring which is basically a sketch in black and white.

I had to think and colour it as per my own creativity. So I gave my best and colored it fully based on my imagination and my creativity. Our school sent back all the Art works to Mumbai. Then during our Sports Meet 2016 practice session, one of our teachers called me and conveyed that I’ve won a Gold Medal in that Art Competition. I felt immense joy in my heart that I have become a National Level Gold Medalist. So this is one such incident that I will never forget in my life.

Apart from this Gold Medal, I recently received GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for Fastest time to type using one finger which is 21.99 sec. I became the world’s top person to break this record and received official honor from Guinness Book of World Records head office, London, U.K. . The trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, R.J. Ratnakar honored me with official certificate for this prestigious achievement.

Digital Guruji : What keeps you going and who inspires you the most?

Kushal Dasgupta : I am inspired by my elder brother, Dr. Sai Kaustuv Dasgupta who is a 90% differently abled wheelchair warrior of India. He got his name listed in Limca Book of Records, India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records and received many international awards. He has also been a TEDx and motivational speaker and has given motivational talks to many corporate companies.

He has been inspiring people since then. He always guides me to listen to my heart and tells me to do such a work which is unique, which no one has ever done before. For me, my brother plays a role model.

Digital Guruji : What’s your daily life routine?

Kushal Dasgupta : Since I am a student, a freelancer photographer and videographer, I don’t have a fixed schedule of my life. I flow myself with the time and project. I try to maintain my routine from morning to night by keeping myself motivated. Morning I wake up by saying my morning prayers that leads to a spiritual balance in my life.

I have seen my family and learnt from them that spiritual life is equally important with our worldly routine. After that I continue with my project. I spend time with my family too I go out and explore lot of people’s inner stories. I observe their behavior and attitude. I come back home and collect all the ideas and ponder upon what can be done with their stories. Then I study.

At the end of the day I keep a track on myself that am I on the right path towards my destination or goal? I try to improve myself from the mistakes that I have done during the day. Before going to bed I introspect myself that what all things I have done during the day and what can be improved. I feel reviewing yourself before going to bed makes you much more confident and strong in your life. My routine is as creative as I am.

A MESSAGE FROM FEARLESS YOUNG BOY TO THE YOUNGSTERS…

I would like to motivate the young students to pursue their passion besides their mainstream career as we all have limited time. They must never leave their passions aside. Along with their passions and their interests, they can continue their chosen field. You should have confidence in yourself. We all are the future of India and if we keep moving with all the courage and faith, then even time will support us. The youth will be empowered and India will become a powerful nation. I feel creating India’s future is not a one-day thing. It’s a long process to shape it up culturally, technologically and with moral values. We have the strength to make India proud! Let’s give our best.
